Free online training for health professionals – Managing Wellbeing and Recognising Vicarious Trauma

We are sponsoring this virtual training day delivered by Blue Knot, targeted at first responders, mental health professionals and rural clinicians in our area. This training is usually $350 but is offered to you at no cost. Places are limited to 30, so register early!

This training program explores the nature, dynamics and risks of vicarious trauma and supports you to stay healthy and safe in your work. This training, informed by current research, will provide you with the knowledge, skills and tools to better recognise the early signs of various stress outcomes.

What’s in it for me?

  • It’s free.
  • You will learn to define vicarious trauma, distinguish it from other stress experiences, and identify risk factors.
  • You will understand vicarious resilience, empathy and compassion.
  • You will discuss the role of organisations, trauma-informed supervision and self-care in managing vicarious trauma.

Who should attend?

Healthcare workers in the Three Rivers footprint who may work with trauma clients and/or are exposed to traumatic material, such as first responders, mental health clinicians and the peer workforce.
