Free health clinician professional development – Live and Learn

This free face-to-face professional development for health professionals will be held in Deniliquin. There is a morning and an afternoon session on the day and a networking lunch. You can attend one or both sessions. Registration is at 9.00am for a 9.30am start.

Clinical supervision and managing students at risk – difficult conversations (9.30am to 12.30pm, includes morning tea)
Presented by Three Rivers Department of Rural Health staff (Charles Sturt University)

  • Understand the expectations of clinical supervision and learn how to maximise your effectiveness as a supervisor.
  • Get some ideas on dealing with student under-performance and how to conduct the difficult performance review conversation.

Networking lunch (12.30pm to 1.00pm)
Join us for a free networking lunch! The presenters will be available to answer questions and provide additional information on support provided by Three Rivers DRH.

Wellbeing matters and managing compassion fatigue (1.00pm to 3.30pm)
Presented by Going Rural Department of Rural Health staff (Melbourne University)

  • Prioritising our wellbeing is crucial in enabling us to feel good and function well professionally and personally. This interactive workshop focuses on developing participants' understanding of what wellbeing is, why it matters, and how we can apply evidence-based strategies to develop wellbeing. The session provides an opportunity to connect, reflect and explore practical tools for enhancing wellbeing in oneself and others.
  • Compassion fatigue describes the physical, emotional, and psychological impact of helping others – often through experiences of stress or trauma. Learn the difference between compassion fatigue and burnout and discover some tips on enhancing your wellbeing.

Attendees will receive a Certificate of Participation.
