Tracey is a registered occupational therapist with over three decades of experience in regional and rural clinical practice, allied health education, and research.
Her career has been defined by a commitment to regional, rural and remote health equity, underpinned by her own lived experience and professional engagement in these settings.
Tracey joins Three Rivers DRH from Charles Sturt University’s School of Allied Health, Exercise and Sports Sciences, where she held various roles, including Associate Head of School and Discipline Lead (Occupational Therapy).
As Associate Professor in Rural Health and Lead in Rural Health Education, Tracey works across disciplines to facilitate collaborative working relationships with the multidisciplinary rural health workforce.
Tracey’s teaching experience reflects an ongoing commitment to rural health education and building a sustainable rural health workforce. Her involvement in and dedication to the design, development and evaluation of high-quality health education is reflected by her appointment as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Tracey’s research is informed by occupational and humanistic perspectives and draws on qualitative methodologies, co-design principles and authentic engagement with community members and service providers.
Much of her research foregrounds lived and living experiences to better understand and enhance health and wellbeing, promote occupational participation, address issues of injustice, and enhance health equity.
Tracey is currently involved in various research projects and is also actively involved in supervision of Honours and HDR students.
