Free health clinician professional development – Peer assisted learning student supervision

This free face-to-face professional development for health professionals is sponsored by Three Rivers DRH and Going Rural Health. The student supervision workshop will focus on peer assisted learning (PAL) as a clinical supervision approach and will be delivered by facilitators from Monash Health.

1.00pm – 4.00pm PAL workshop

This workshop is designed to introduce clinical supervisors to the concept of PAL as an approach to supervising students on clinical placements. Learn from experienced facilitators how PAL student placements can benefit you, your organisation and students.

Learning objectives

  • Define PAL.
  • Explain the difference between a paired allocation model and PAL.
  • Apply PAL theory to a clinical placement activity.
  • List the practical considerations when planning a PAL placement.
  • Develop strategies to manage challenges in a PAL placement.

This training is free, and attendees will receive a Certificate of Participation.
